Democrats, the Establishment Media and sundry Leftist luminaries are working feverishly in the wake of the devestation wrought by Hurricane Katrina. And just what are they striving so eagerly to accomplish? To establish as historical fact the version of events that blames George W. Bush for the Katrina disaster.
Why the urgency to set the story in stone? Because the more real facts that emerge about the disaster preparations and disaster management, the more clear it becomes that the real negligence and mismanagement was committed by Louisian Democrat elected officials at the state and local level. The very people who initiated the finger-pointing.
So, the question once again is "will the American People believe a pack of lies told against President Bush?" The track record for the liars in recent years isn't so good. Think Michael Moore, Paul O'Neil, Richard Clark, Joe Wilson, Bill Burkett, Mary Mapes, Dan Rather, Downing Street Memo, Cindy Sheehan.
Americans, generally, are just not as stupid as the President's enemies seem to believe. So, the Democrats and their Media allies may shout themselves hoarse blaming Bush for everything that went wrong, but the truth will out eventually, and the Democrats will be left with the same voters believing them that believes the U.S.A. invaded Iraq to take the oil. Recent election results should give the Democrats a clue that these credulous Americans constitute a minority of the electorate.
