strong>My pick for 2005 Man of the Year: The Purple-fingered Iraqi Voter.

Three times in 2005 Iraqis proved the elitist snobs wrong, those who said that Arabs and Muslims just don't want or can't handle democracy. Iraqi voters braved terrorist threats to cast their ballots for an interim government, a federal constitution and the first democratically elected full-fledged government in their nation's long history.

Thanks to their fortitude, the military might of the United States and its Coalition allies, and the resolve and vision of President George W. Bush, Iraqis now have a better, more free life than they ever have, and a better, more free life than the People of any other Arab country.
The Iraqi voters deserve Man of the Year, hands down...or should I say Fingers Up?
