Eyeing the 2008 Presidential Election Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) continued her lurch to the Right, telling reporters Wednesday that Republican-sponsored border security measures making it a federal crime to offer assistance to illegal immigrants would "criminalize" even Jesus. It is hard to believe that a Republican leadership that is constantly talking about values and faith would put forth such a mean-spirited piece of legislation," Clinton said during a news conference regarding a bill that was passed by the Republican controlled House of Representatives in December. "It is certainly not in keeping with my understanding of the Scripture because this bill would literally criminalize the Good Samaritan and probably even Jesus himself," she said.
Mrs. Clinton brushed off reporters’ questions about a joint statement from the American Civil Liberties Union, People for the American Way, and Americans United for Separation of Church and State, groups which have abandoned traditional Party loyalties to support the GOP-sponsored Immigration Bill, precisely because it would criminalize Jesus. That noted that, “when it comes to outlawing Jesus, it is high time for American Immigration Law to catch up with American Public Schools.”
