A few minutes ago Rush read a story from a Texas newspaper, which reported a supposed movement of Republican voters planning to take a Democrat ballot in the upcoming Texas Primary, and vote for Obama, in order to drive a stake through Hillary's heart.
Just as Gore 2000/DNC telemarketers prospected for complaints of vote fraud/ballot-confusion in Florida in 2000, then parlayed a handful of solicited complaints into a national “crisis’ of a “stolen election,” so the Texas “Republicans voting for Obama” news story may be a launching point for Hillary’s Convention appeal for uncommitted delegates, i.e. the vast right-wing conspiracy stole the nomination from me, by sending Republican voters into the Democrat Primary. A spiteful act of Republican Clinton-hatred – they couldn’t remove Bill from office, so they are corrupting the electoral process to deny Hillary the nomination, etc. etc…
It doesn’t matter whether wild-eyed delegates believe this line, or whether craven super-delegates choose to “believe” it as cover, in order to avoid having the Clintons fax the delegate’s FBI files to the Washington Post.
I may be guilty of wishful thinking, but surely experience has taught us never to accept a news story about the Clintons at face value.
