I heard on Laura Ingraham’s broadcast this morning that William F. Buckley, Jr. passed away. I am indebted to that great man, as are legions of Conservatives, for helping to teach me how to think clearly about Public Policy, and for improving my mind with his brilliant and delicious mastery of the English language. William F. Buckley Jr. helped me gain a great treasure in my life, namely the love of thinking.
He also helped me gain another greater treasure. Buckley’s unabashed testimony to his faith in Christ (along with Ronald Reagan’s testimony) helped pry open my mind to considering the Gospel, which I did not then take seriously. Knowing that no less an intellect than WFB confessed Jesus Christ, I could no longer summarily dismiss Christianity and the Bible, and began seeking the truth.
Thank you Mr. Buckley, RIP.
