Since last week we’ve heard rumors that Obama will dump Joe Biden from the Dem ticket (Biden will want to “spend more time with his family”) and replace him with Hillary Clinton. Now, try to think about this like a Feminist.
In 1992 Hillary stood by her man in the Gennifer Flowers and assorted other Bimbo Eruptions, so that Bill could make it to the White House and Hillary would be empowered to take over the Health Care Industry. She dutifully played her part, but the promised reward never materialized. Again in 1998-99 Hillary stood by her man when he “did not have sex with that woman, Miss Lewinsky,” dutifully portrayed the wronged but loyal wife to save Bill’s worthless hide from being kicked out of office, all in order to preserve her own Presidential ambitions for 2008.
Her moment came! She was the inevitable, anointed nominee-to-be of an ascendant Democrat Party. One problem, even though she won a nearly equal number of votes, she was cast aside by the Party Bosses (i.e. Superdelegates), and they gave the nomination to a man. Hillary clenched her teeth and supported the Party’s nominee, and was rewarded by not even being considered for the VP slot, which instead went to a good-old-boy white male. Then the Republicans, of all people, the racist-sexist-bigot-homophobe-warmongering-tax cuts for the rich Republicans choose a (alleged) woman as the VP candidate, and suddenly this arctic Jenny-come-lately is sucking up all the oxygen that should have belonged to Hillary.
And now, now after Hillary has given the best years of her life to unfaithful, unthankful, less-qualified men, to advance their careers, now that they are in trouble and can’t get across the finish line without her help, she is once again supposed to swallow her pride and let the men walk all over her again? And for what? Another promise to just be patient because her turn is coming? She can look in the mirror and see that new wrinkle and another gray hair, and the-smartest-woman-in-the-world can figure out that she won’t always look pleasant under the TV lights, certainly not in eight years.
She’s been used and abused by Democrat men over and over again. Why should she say, “yes” one more time? For years now, Hillary has danced to the tune of Tammy Wynette's "Stand By Your Man," but I think another country song will be in order for Hillary if Obama asks her to run with him now. It's from "But I Will," by Faith Hill, “you always had a line to change my mind, so I guess you thought, I’d just let you break my heart again…”
